There is traffic control there. Have you ever been there when the trucks are coming out? There's traffic control all the way. Granted, it's messed up, but there is.

If you live in Calvert, why are you so worried about St. Mary's County? I just don't get it.
I don't want your tax dollars going to support the non-profit either. That's why I suggested that the Commissioners use their imagination, go to the State or benefactors. I wouldn't want to saddle a non-profit with that costly repair either, and it is a county building. There are grant funds for these types of problems but a lot of Boards just won't look or don't have time to look for them. We have the same problems in Calvert.

I work for Raleigh Management at Hickory Hills. I've been in and out of that intersection at all times of the day. It's rough. I've even seen a few near misses.

I live in Calvert but I work in St. Mary's. I like St. Mary's. I even considered moving there but I couldn't find a nice house in my price range.

I like St. Mary's but I have to admit I love Calvert...

Oh, (I'm not gonna cuss here) WHY should it be the responsibility of the BOCC to go to the State or benefactors to get funding for a non-profit that is leasing a building "as-is" for $1 a year. Shouldn't that be the responsibility of the non-profit? I mean, they have a building for $1/year and the BOCC is now suppposed to find them funding? There are more important things to find funding for besides a theatre group. How about the Homeless Shelter, Walden Center, the museums, that foundation that builds homes for people who can't afford them? The BOCC, aka, the taxpayers, should use staff money and time to find funding for a theatre group? Oh, please.

As far as working in St. Mary's and living in Calvert....and running for office in Calvert.....

There are people who want to "save the arts" and they give money to this kind of project. I would give my money to the homeless shelter.

Doesn't the article on Baynet say that the non-profit offered to get a benefactor to replace the handler but the county said no? They have a benefactor but the county doesn't seem to want to use their money. I know, seems like the BOCC has better things to do, but they didn't want to allow the benefactor that the non-profit found even with their own oversight of the project.

I've been working there for a couple of years. I like the people I work with. I would miss them.

Yep, that's what the article says. Might want to find out the truth, though. Might want to call Raley and McKay and find out if the County ever said no. Might want to find out if they ever asked.............Might want to find out who the Baynet gets their info from cause it sure isn't the real picture.

So, how did that go and why was the article removed from the Baynet? Was it, perhaps, not entirely honest? Come on, give me the lowdown.
