Several reasons.

1. Despite the influx of people to this area it is still a small community run largely by names like Raley, Mattingly and McKay. To think a newcomer, living here just over 3 years could muscle into the political scene is foolish.

2. As a single parent who's ex spouse believes in, and would have voted for JPC's child support support platform I have to stick with the job I have for my financial well being AND my time is pretty much booked up washing, cleaning, cooking, tutoring, folding, picking up after, shuttling and nurturing a 9 year old.

3. I am way to blunt, I am sane and I cannot lie. If I see a pig, I call it a pig. It is not in my nature to call it a "Valuable porcine member of the community who's porcine culture is valuable to the diversity of our little slice of heaven. The needs of the porcine community are important to me and I will do my best to use the resources of the non porcine community here to cultivate an atmosphere where porcines and others can flourish together."
