The fisherman have been back out in force this week. There have been reports of a lot of grass and dirty water. It is clearing up slowly and has gotten better as the days go by. The bite has been somewhat scattered and a lot of anglers are just trying to pinpoint the bait to put them on the stripers. Everyone is out there trying to re-establish patterns. Despite the storm though the fishing has still been active and good in the middle bay area, you just have to spend a little more time and bring the patience.

Most recreational fisherman don't have the luxury of picking and choosing their fishing times. We have to go when the opportunity presents itself. But if you are fishing tidal waters there is one thing you can do to drastically increase your odds of success. Another report came in from over the weekend from Striper Dave. He couldn't wait for Ida to get out the way so he could get back to his evening skinny water striper fishing. The result speaks for itself - not large fish, but skinny water rockfish in mid-November on the tail end of a nasty Nor'easter is a treat for anyone.
