Fair Entry

I need info for entering a Rooster in the county fair. My son wants to enter him. We are not in 4H or any group.I have heard that he needs to be checked out by a Vet. Has anyone here done this before? If so can you point me to a Vet for poultry in the Northern end of St.Marys County?
