Dolphins in the Patuxent

Saw a pod of about 8 dolphins this AM in the Patuxent, out in front of Asbury. Pretty cool! But also a sign of how salty the river must be due to so little rain.

I hope that they don't get chopped up by a thousand drinking boaters tomorrow night for the fireworks.

I remember seeing them from Scientist Cliffs in mid June a few years ago. Someone said it was them following a kind of fish they like to eat!!
It is nice to know they are back!!

Saw about the same number of them when I was trolling off Cedar Pt in the bay last week. Cedar Pt is just outside the river. Wonder if it's the same bunch.
