So easy. Make the one on the back of the hersheys cocoa tin, and add a vanilla bean, and use whole milk.

Ingredients
2 1/2 cups whole milk
2 cups half-and-half
4 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped
4 ounces milk chocolate, chopped
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 teaspoon instant espresso or coffee powder
4 to 5 vanilla beans or cinnamon sticks, for garnish
Directions
Heat the milk and half-and-half in a saucepan on medium heat to just below the simmering point. Remove the pan from the heat and add both chocolates. When the chocolates are melted, add the sugar, vanilla extract, and espresso and whisk vigorously. Reheat gently and serve immediately. Use a vanilla bean or cinnamon stick to garnish each serving.
I top ours w/ homemade marshmallows as well super good

I was told by one of the nice cashiers at Nicks to add some whipped vodka to hot chocolate. I haven't tested this out yet but how could it possibly be bad? Hmmmm, sure is cold out today. Maybe I'll go try some spiked hot chocolate!

I LOVE vodka. I really, really do. But hot vodka does not sound appealing

maybe some of that alcoholic whipped cream on top would be better.

Don't worry you won't even know that the vodka's there, until you try to figure out why you're looking at the bottom of the table from the floor.

I've gone back and forth as to whether the homemade marshmallows are worth the effort. Is there enough of a taste difference to justify to cost and time?

I think they are much better homemade. You can also omit the vanilla and add a little bit of peppermint extract if you like. Garnish w/ a candy cane. Sooo yummy

What I'm really looking for is a way to duplicate some hot chocolate we had years ago in Georgia. It was very thick,to the point it left a mustache after drinking it. Almost tasted like melted chocolate more than that watery taste from a mix,and when I asked what was in it,there was indeed melted chocolate and heavy cream.

This recipe is really rich and thick but I have also switched out the half & half for cream when I didnt have it on hand and it was even better.
