Yes, try parchment paper....truly a remarkable product for kitchen use.

But do NOT try using wax paper as a substitute...definitely not the same thing.

And another thing, don't buy and use that cheap crap.

I bought some of the inexpensive kind...not even sure where I bought it. That stuff was thin and didn't adequately protect the cookies from burning.

Most often I buy the Reynolds brand. It's not bad.

Recently bought a pack of parchment sheets from King Arthur Flour and that stuff is awesome. It is nice and thick and definitely does a great job of protecting the baked goods. It is good enough quality that you can use it for multiple times. I can make up a batch of cookie dough and use the same parchment-lined sheet pans to bake the entire batch. You can't do that with cheap stuff. But because you can reuse the parchment from kAF, it actually is cheaper than the crap kind.

Same here, last time I picked up a roll, I didn't look at the package and it's double sided, foil on one side, parchment paper on the other, not bad, but you don't get much in the roll.
