| Ireland to Issue DUI Permits To Rural Citizens Kerry County Ireland Votes To Issue Drunk Driving Permits | Geekosystem Ireland, it would seem, has officially decided to just start living up to all the ugliest stereotypes the rest of the world has about it. Exhibit A: The local council for Kerry County in south-west Ireland has approved a measure that would allow police to issue permits to people living in rural areas that would allow them to drive drunk legally.

|  I like it. Issue permits and let them drive between 2am and 3am. This way only one hour a day drunks will be on the road with the provision that with the permit they take the responsibility if they hit another drunk. And the drunk they hit also has a permit accepting the responsibility to get hit.  Hey, no more DUI's, the Morticians get more business, the tow truck drivers get more business and the drunks are happy.  Only drawback is if you're walking at that hour, you take your chances and if one of the drunks runs into your house. Haven't figured that part out yet. But this is so stupid, I'm surprised some liberal hasn't brought it up saying drunks have rights too.
