dumb question need help

How do you cook steak in an oven. What do you cook it on and for how long. I cant find anything on the internet that tells me anything more than recipes. thanks

you are going to want to use the broiler in your oven. If you have one of those slotted pans, put them on that. Put the rack as close to the broiler as possible and then fire it up. side your steaks in and keep an eye on them. They can burn easy. Flip them once and they are done.

If you have an electric oven, read the instructions, they usually require the oven door to be open just a little to keep from overheating.

Don't be skeered by a little smoke, its just going to happen

thanks. i dont have a broiler pan, will a cookie sheet work?

Especially in a cast iron skillet. Or sear it on both sides in the skillet, and pop it into a pre-heated oven to finish cooking.
