Um.. iam prego, had H1N1 and I am still here. there are 3400 strands of the flu and this is just another "strand" frekin Media has blown this up, and got exactly what they want. a stir up. i was out of bed in 3 days, fine, baby is fine. the end!

St. Mary's county school distributed the H1N1 vaccine to students who signed up for it in school a week or two ago.

If you want the vaccine that bad, why are you limiting yourself to just our county...

When you look at statistics the numbers aren't as high this year for flu related deaths, but it's the healthy young adults and children who have no health issues and dying that's scaring everyone.

It doesn't matter about the shot or any flu shot for that matter - the H1n1 vaccine is already not the same virus as what's going around now. They 'guess' the strain and try to develop as close a match as they can. The US has waited to development because of this reason. Europe has more vaccine available because they started development in April or May .

If you get the shot you may develop enough antigens to not get as sick, but if you're going to catch it you will. Just be watchful of the SECONDARY infections and high fevers that don't come down.

Know your normal temperature and your family's so you can tell if the fever is high. That way if you have to tell your doc - "Hey - my body temp is 97.6 and I'm running a 101 fever - so to MY body is running a high fever" , you'll be prepared. (yes - that's my normal temp, and yes - I've had to get in the face of medical people to get them to realize I'm much sicker than they think)
