2 lbs ground beef (the less fat kind, 90% or whatever it is)
1 head cabbage
1 large bottle of spicy V8
1 medium sweet onion
half a bag of frozen corn
1 TBSP beef flavored Better Than Bouillon
  1. Brown the ground beef with chopped onion in your soup pot, add a few shakes of W-sauce and the Better Than Bouillon to flavor the meat while it's cooking.
  2. Core the cabbage and cut it up into hearty shreds. Not coleslaw thin or it will disintegrate.
  3. Throw the cabbage in with the ground beef and cook, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is soft.
  4. Add the V8 and the corn.
  5. Salt and pepper as you see fit, I typically add a bunch of shakes of hot sauce.
  6. Heat until bubbling hot and the corn is cooked.

That's it. Best soup EVER!
I sauted the meat, onions, etc and threw it all in the crockpot while I went to work. What a delicious meal to come home to. It was YUM-MEE! In the future, I think I will add a can of red kidney beans.
Thanks for the recipe, Vrai!

My favorite is Potato soup. I have a very simple recipe and it is always a big hit. I also always use the same soup pot for it to the point that now if I cook anything in it you can smell onions.

2 lg onions
1-2 Tbs butter
Sautee until tender and caramelized

Pour 2 lg containers of chicken broth into pot.
Put 2-3 pounds of Russet potatoes (cubed into bite sized pieces)
add a little salt and pepper and boil until potatoes are tender.

Turn heat to low and add about a cup or two of milk. Add salt, pepper and Chicken boulion powder to taste. Use instant potatoes to thicken to desired thickness.

Top with Oscar mayer real bacon bits or pieces and a mix of cheddar and mozzerella cheese.

I always make this from memory and this is the first time I ever typed it out so please excuse the less than perfect formatting.

What is Moores marinade? Not familiar with it. I tried the "better than boullion" in the recipe- had never heard of it, either!

I have had a bowl in the fridge here at work all day and was too busy to get to it. Figured it would be 10X better day two and well, I may have to find out about day three :toolatetoeatnow:

It is. I'll make a pot and eat on it all week and it just gets better and better.

Tonight I made Tyler Florence's Dad's Meatloaf, which I have never felt the need to improve upon or fiddle with in any way:
