Prescription meds

My dental hygienist expressed surprise that, at my age, I don't take any prescription medication, or even OTC on a regular basis (like for allergies or heartburn). Then I realized that, yeah, I know an awful lot of people who take pills for this and that - high blood pressure, cholesterol, etc.

How common is it to be on meds? Wait for the poll...

I think many women under a certain age will be on prescription meds - at least birth control. That will skew the poll.

Almost 54 - I have a hypothyroid, so I take meds for that. I do.also have sinus issues so I take mostly OTC meds for that.

No hypertension or high cholesterol issues, so no meds for that.

I am 41 and take no meds but my husband is almost 48 and has been on several medications for years. High cholesterol/blood pressure/acid reflux. But.. I also don't go to the doctor's so who knows if I need to be on something and just don't know it.

I didn't think about that but what I was more thinking of is Pushrod's thread and ETC's response, how they only give you a limited supply and then you have to make a Dr visit for more. Talk about a racket.

I was perfectly healthy until I went and suddenly I had high BP, cholesterol and am border line diabetic! Doctors are bad for your health!

My doctor is awesome. She gives me a year's supply of my prescription medication and tells me to come back in a year for blood work and another prescription.
