Your about a month too late. However, we got ours from Penney's online. It was fairly inexpensive.

I decided to rent before buying in case I didn't want to continue playing long enough for it to be worth the investment. I only had to pay around $25 that covered my forst 3 months completely (I went to Strings Music Center located near Kmart). The woman working there said they had a large variety of them to order from as well.

There is if you're playing on someone's front porch in the boondocks of Kentucky vice the stage of the New York Philharmonic.

I think mainly in the tuning. Not sure if they are the same size or not. I only played it a few times.... My Ex bought it for me so I tossed it under my bed where I don't have to mess with it.

There really is none.

Also, I'd go with thequizmaster's suggestion with renting. Your daughter may find that she may not want the violin. You'll save money. Then you can buy a saxophone.
