looms and weaving

If you've ever been interested in weaving and are curious about looms, the Fuzzy Farmers in the Southern Maryland Artisians shop has set up a display of different kinds of weaving looms. There are a Navajo, triangle, ridged heddle, and a couple of smaller looms, plus in the studio table and floor looms. The looms are not for sale, but you are welcome to see them and ask lots of questions. Southern Maryland Artisians is located in the building next to Southen Maryland Antique Center in Leonardtown.

rugs

All the time, I have two rug looms. Cotton rugs, wool rugs, recycled fabric rugs, rugs from commericial wool, handspun wool rugs. I even have some Horsehair/wool blend that I've spun and plan to weave into a rug.

I don't teach but Misti does:
Home

Rugs are pretty easy to make, and you can use lots of different fibers. My favorite thing is to recycle old clothes.

The Fuzzy Farmers will also be at the Fall Follies in Leonardtown next Saturday, Sept 12th. I'll have several different kinds of woven rugs there and lots of other stuff. . It's from 10-3 on the square.
Misti isn't in her studio everyday so if you wanted to talk to her about lessons you might want to email or call her first.
