Had a salt tank about fifteen years ago. 55 gallon. I had clowns and a bunch of others. It was expensive back then. I remember paying like $50 for a small (1 1-2" to 2" long) clown fish.

Are things still that expensive? I've often wanted to get back into it...

I wouldn't go with a rectangular glass tank, the acrylics (with the nice rounded corners) were just starting to come out while I was into things. I'm guessing now that's about all you can find...

I lived in a beach house in Hawaii when I had mine.
fish were free
coral was free

When I'd go on travel, my room mate would overfeed the fish and kill everything. Good thing the fish were free.

Nope I raise cichlids so that I can have amazingly colorful fish and none of the hardships. Always wanted a salt tank though.
