Rain Barrel?

Does anyone know where I might be able to get a 55 gallon plastic drum to make into a rain barrel? The cost of the commercial rain barrels is just crazy, and it seems like a simple thing to make.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Thanks! I'd tried to do a search on the classifieds, but guess I didn't use the right key word!

A guy up at the farmers market sells the blue barrels that used to hold apple juice or other food products. I think it was $20 a barrel and close to a 55 gallon size, that was last year. Don't know if he is still there.

National Colonial Farm...

Held a seminar this spring as to how to build a rain-barrell irrigation network...how to avoid mosquito larva etc. They would be eager to give you tips or you could go take a look at what has worked for them. They are located in Accokeek--really worth your time. I do not have the contact person...just call.
Let us know how it works out!

I think I saw a farm using old kitty litter bottles to irrigate individual plants.
