Ah, I have a perfect spot for those trees (behind the Metcom water house where my large property is).

We're trying to make a "forest" behind the Metcom water house as it is a pain in the butt to mow 2 acres of land once a week for almost 4 hours on a riding lawn mower.

Thanks, but I don't live in Baltimore. Do you have to be a Baltimore Resident to be able to get free trees?

Question

we have some trees on the farmer's property behind us and the nuts drop on our property. How do you get the seeds out of the outer shell?

With great dificulty
We used to throw them in the driveway and pick them up as the hulls wear off.
Cutting off the hulls by hand will dye your hands brown.
... even while wearing rubber gloves.

After you get the hulls off, you have a thick inner shell with small passages for the nut meat. Old dental tools (ask your dentist for broken picks) work well for removing the meat from the shell.
