Hmmm i use cast iron on mine and its never scratched. Ive even dropped a big cast iron skillet on it and its still ok.

Same here! Abominations, these electric stoves! I dont' have any problems using my cast iron either, but I HATE electric and glass top stoves due to waiting for it to heat up and cool down. Drives me insane. If I had my way, I would use gas.

Anyway, I had a friend who cracked hers. For the cost of replacing/repairing the glass top. You may as well buy yourself a new stove.
You'll get what you want that way.
