S-p-i-d-e-r!!!

Went downstairs to switch out laundry. Got out the dry clothes, put in the next load, grabbed the basket and off I went - back up the stairs.

Right after going up 2 stairs, I spot this thing on about the 5th step up. O M freaking G, it was a humongous spider on the stairs. I nearly had a heart attack. I know it was at least 2-3" wide.

Made the Things come down - Thing2 decided HE wasn't getting the @#$#(&(* spider.

Thing1 got elected to destroy it. I still have the heebie jeebies. :shiver:

I should take a picture of this tarantula big spider that keeps making a web in my driveway always connecting 2 vehicles together. I swear it is a Huntsman spider but I don't know if they exist here in Maryland.

I wonder how spiders that big get in the house to begin with? Makes you wonder where the crack is that got them inside or if they used the front door.

Hate.

The cats, who have no problem taking down a bird or bunny, are scared of spiders and won't go near them. #######s. This one I squooshed yesterday was black and hairy. I nailed it with the tape dispenser.

I don't smash them or spray them, I use the vacuum cleaner on most insects like spiders, crickets, June bugs, etc. No mess, no crunching sounds...

Simon is a worthless bug hunter on demand. Oh, surrrrrre, he'll leave mutilated morsels of some kind of bug on the kitchen floor or my brand new laminate wood foyer floor for me to step on. But when he's sleeping - he's worthless.

I like to hit them with the extra hold hairspray. Flash frozen spider.

I have a Rainbow vac, so they'd meet a wonderfully wicked death for sure.

But both my Rainbow & the hairspray were 2 & 3 flights of stairs up. I was trapped!

I have considered doing this, but I am scared that they will not die and will crawl back out of the vacuum!

This sounds weird for a guy to say but...I have 3 vacuums in my house. One for the upstairs, one for downstairs and a big shop vac in the garage. DIE BUGS!!

Not likely. My 2 house vacs use bags but my shop vac doesn't and none of them have crawled out of it. The shop vac is soo powerful that, after they take their last ride through the corrugated hose, they're very or at least wishing they were.
