Kudos to a local construction co. doing good work

I heard from someone about a local company that is doing restoration work in their home due to a fire. They said that Liberty Construction/Waldorf, MD has done a great job, and the price was also one of the lower bids they received to do the work.

Note: I am not affiliated with this company.

Figured I'd share the info. here in case anyone is looking for a contractor to get some work done. I like to pass on good information about companies when I hear about it.

Here is their contact information: Liberty Construction 301-885-3785.

Not to be nit-picky, but you only "heard" and don't have personal experience?

The person who had work done picked them after a few estimates, and said they used "word of mouth" criteria to select the companies from which to get estimates. So they at least did a bit of homework, and didn't pick just anyone out of the phone book (or off the internet).

I expect I'll have the personal experience soon when I get needed work done. The roof on my house is starting to look sad ..... a good storm or two and it could end up needing to be replaced sooner than I want to do it. I'm hoping the roof can wait until after I get the windows replaced (fingers crossed).

Sounds like me... I need to replace all the south-facing windows and the picture window in the family room, plus a new roof. Just not sure which one to go in debt over first!

As long as your roof isn't leaking, I'd say go for the windows first. You'll be able to enjoy them more than a new roof. The choices in windows these days is over-whelming. So many really great features to consider. I'm just starting to look at brands/features, so if you've done some research, share please.

Hope for a good storm that dislodges your shingles. Then all you will have to pay is your insurance deductable.

Nope, if you file small insurance claims they decide they can do without your business and they don't renew your policy. Homeowner's insurance of late is really only meant (in their view) for large catastrophic types of claims (due to how frequently they drop customers who file small claims).

I had Allstate and I filed a loss claim from a break-in many years ago for a few thousand dollars in stolen items. A few years later someone vandalized my house (after I asked several teenagers unknown to me to stop wrestling in my driveway ON my car). I was told by Allstate after that if I filed one more claim I would not have my policy renewed.

I've only just started looking. I went to a home expo show in Bal'more sometime early spring. Anderson had a line of retro-fit products called the Renewal line. Custom fit, clad, many different styles, looked pretty nice. However, I never followed up with them because they lied to me. I had them send me info via email, but before I gave my email addy to them I asked specifically whether they gave away or sold email addresses. They said no. Stupid me. A week later I was getting tons of crap email from home building and supply companies.

Anyway, I was up in the attic and noticed some soft spots in the plywood sheeting... I think the roof gets priority before winter.

Hurricane Sandy brought down a large tree onto a relatives house, they are in the process of getting the repair/rebuild work done by Liberty Construction.

They had several estimates from different companies, and even asked another company about Liberty, and were told that Liberty does good work. That was nice of them to be honest and not try to bad mouth a competitive company.
