| Breaker box in bedroom Hi all, i'm planning to frame in a bedroom in my basement, but I just realized that the breaker panel would then be in the bedroom. I looked around online and saw there isn't a clear rule against this in national code (though there are some who interpret it differently), but there may be something in local code. I can't find anything on the Calvert website (i'm in the Ranch Club), and they won't be open until next week. Trying to figure out if I need to rethink my plan or not. Thanks. Ben |

| What specifically are your concerns? The panel can be located in the bed room, however, you cannot cover it with any part of the structure. There must be 36" clear working space in front, 30" horizontally and 6-1/2' height in front of it (see attached pic). You cannot put a bed or dresser in front of it. There must be adequate light. You will also have to use arc fault circuit breakers to feed the circuits in the new bedroom.
