Well after tearing

into the laundry room wall I found out I have black mold on the opposite side, which is the entryway. Just a tad along the bottom in spots. Not surprising since it flooded every good rain storm for about a year until the drainage finally got fixed. So guess what happens next? New entry walls. They are pretty dated, painted paneling anyway.

Spray the area well with Clorox before you put it back together.

borax might be better - less fumes - 1 cup borax to 1 gallon I water. Had an issue with black mold at my 1st house (before the internet) and that is what I was told to do. It was also in the laundry area. Good you found it. Untreated black mold can make you sick. Make sure you have your windows open DR.

I already bleached it, but we will be replacing the paneling and drywall out there too. Piece of cake job. well, except for the stair cuts that have to be made. Other than that just a few big pieces.

Never heard of using borax. Have to look that one up.

Thanx.

There is a special paint that is made to prevent/kill mold issues. When my house flooded after the Hurricane last year and they had to replace all my walls, they used this primer to make sure no mold grew on any of the 2x4s.

I can't remember the name of it, but it was over $100.00 per gallon!!!

Was it this?

KILZ® Primers & Paints

I had a flood in my lower level and used bleach to kill the mold. Then I used this before I repainted.
