Does anyone have guidance (helpful hints for survival) on transplanting an azalea? #I know the best time to prune/trim/shape is as soon as they drop their flowers, but not sure how to transplant.

The best time would be in the fall. #If it is rather large, just be careful when removing, not to damage the roots. #Place in well-drained/rich soil, with some sun/shade. Water well after replanting, and mulch. Also, in hot/dry weather, water daily. (Edited by Flo at 5:00 pm on May 17, 2001) (Edited by Flo at 5:03 pm on May 17, 2001)

Thanks Flo, that is what I was thinking, but most plants should be pruned early spring or late fall so with the azalea variance there I thought it couldn't hurt to ask those wiser than I. #Too, I didn't want to miss my chance this year. #Thanks again.
