Do not like the Individualized Comfort

Two out of three people in my family do NOT like the sleep number bed known as the individualized comfort. Our beds are Queen size about 5 years old and in good condition. There are two separate air mattress with a piece of foam that lives between the two. This foam piece is not substantial enough to support weight and movement in the middle of the bed. So it moves and falls flat then you have a sunken middle. It is fixable - but annoying to have to open the bed to repair. Just our experience, hope this helps.

I hate ours. I had an accident last year and have back and hip issues. I would not recommend this bed to anyone with back issues. I can not get comfortable. My lower back was fractured in 6 places in a fall and my right hip was fractured. Its a constant battle all night for comfort. I can rest in a recliner better than in a Select Comfort mattress.

I have no personal experience with a Sleep Number bed, but I know my Mother was not happy with the one she had.

I recently replace my old inner spring mattress with a memory foam mattress. I am very happy with it. I tried them out at the mattress store first to make sure I knew what they felt like. I'm glad I did. If I hadn't, I may have gone with the most firm mattress. When I laid on that one, once it conformed to my shape, it was hard rolling over from that spot. I tried one that was less firm and it was much better and easier to roll over on.

The best part is, memory foam mattresses are available at SAMs club, and possibly other member-type stores, for a fraction of the cost of what you would pay at a mattress store, and they deliver them in a box right to your home.

Seems a lot of unhappy customers. Not just here, but other reviews I've read. Thanks all!

Thanks for this thread. We have a Sealy Pillow Top purchased 2 years ago, and very happy; sends you into dreamland, but a bit heat abosrbing. We are going to buy entire bedroom set for my daughter and future son in law in next month or so. They just bought a house, so all info is good. I know not totally on topic for sleep number, but maybe get feed back on other beds as well. Thanks.

We excluded them from our new mattress search very quickly due to the overwhelming number of poor reviews. We were looking for a very good quality mattress to help with my husband's bad back, we went with a Sleep EZ mattress and are very pleased.
