| Boarding? Looking for self care or a place where i can work off partial board. Might be getting a top of the line medium pony to train and resell. need a place locally to keep it. Needs to be in 25mi radius from hollywood. Can school/ride, do pm shifts, or VERY early (before 8am) shifts ect. to work off some bored. Stall preferred since this mare is a top of the line resell show prospect and needs to look sharp. Steel grey, dont want her to bleach out ![]() PM me Thanks

| because after doing a bunch of research on her, i found out that her sister is going for 10k UNBROKE and her brother is top of the line as well, but he grew to 15hh rather then staying a top of the line lg pony. Her bloodlines are incredible. She is the last baby out of her sire, and her sire is one of 3 left in the Tully bloodline that is a standing stud... well.. hes not a stud anymore. And for the nice price (owner getting transferred to cali for job reasons in 3.5 weeks, cant afford to ship them) if i can resell her for as much as her sister is, and then i can get something my size thats waht i really want because ill have more money in the budget, rather then settle for something thats not ideally what i want... if that makes since.. Ive ridden med. ponies and i fit them alright surprisingly. Plus itll give me experience with a youngster thats small and i can show in pony classes and get the show experience i need to move up anywho. Shes REEALLY fancy, and great temperment... hasnt learned to jump yet, shes only 3, but w.t.c's and went to a show and pinned 2nd, 3rd and 4th in pleasure... which is great considering shes only been undersaddle 9mo, and behaved really well. Did my own research on her and talked to several people that know the pony (farm owners ect.), and they all say shes a really really really nice pony. So who cares if im big on her.. im only looking to keep her for 6-12mo. to get some miles on her, refine her flat work, and start teaching her to jump so i can resell her for HOPEFULLY if everything goes well and nothing happens (my luck it will) for 10-15k like her siblings are. Then i can get something that i DO fit, that is more sutible to be my competion horse for hunters and dressage stuff that isnt track broke or just started undersaddle! ill also have more training/show experience under my belt as well. However, i am prepared to sell her for less if something does come up or whatever, so i dont loose money in the long run like with bored and usual expenses and i stay in my time line.

| Just something to keep in mind... Expensive ponies (and horses, for that matter) are difficult to sell in southern MD. You don't have a ton of big fancy show barns down here like you do farther north and in VA. It's difficult to market and sell pricey animals without the built in network of a big show trainer/barn. Combine that with the fact that the economy is in the toilet right now, and it could be challenging to get a good price. However, given that the economy is in the toilet, you can probably go out and get a nicer horse that you think on your budget. A lot of people out there are looking to get rid of the very large extra mouth to feed, and buyers aren't exactly beating their doors down right now. It's a good time to start bargaining. Good luck whatever you decide to do! Sorry for the unsolicited advice |

| I am only going to comment on this one time. Why are you putting all work into a prospect that *might* sell for that much money. Things happen to horses, and that prospect might end up turning into a money pit. The horse's siblings may have gone for that much $$, but a 3 year old prospect who isn't trained to jump most likely will not sell for that in the 6-12 month timeframe. The good pony hunters/jumpers that go for that much have extensive show records and are with professional trainers. I would not spend that much money on a pony that is a prospect and hasn't been proven in the show ring. Why don't you keep looking for a horse that will fit you know, and be patient. |

| I agree with both Duckz and Chevy. Not trying to be a downer, but.... Now is a really bad time to try and flip anything. Without a "name" behind you, you're not going to get the big sale price. Sorry. There are a million horses out there needing a good home and going for cheap fitting your other post about a horse for sale. |

| Well see, i found out that i really only have like maybeeee 2000$ to get a horse with. I dont like most TBs, and some quarter horses are alright, but i dont want another down hill horse and i dont want to deal with retraining something OTT cause i dont have any "track" horse experience. Looking for more the warmblood type, which im NOT going to find in my price range. So ive got to find another option. i want an A circut hunter to finish training that can also go and do mid-level dressage.. and unless i get something hardly broke, off the track, skinny with needing a whole bunch of matience, or older, there is nothing out there right now. I want something younger, like 5, 6 or 7yrs old. Even if i do sell this mare for 2500-3000$, thats more money then i had before + more experience then i had before. Ive tried the offering a lower price thing, and so far no one has budged on prices and ive looked at many. From OTTBs-hardly broke babies. The problem is because of the financial world today, most people are already posting bottom line prices. There are many people that look out of state for horses/ponies, like myself. In a year things may be different, doubt it, but you never know. Plus ill be getting ready to go off to college and i will know weather i really want to bring a horse to college with me or wait till i get out. Right now i want something that i can finish the training, compete and then take to college with me. So MY OPINION is that i am going to get some kinda resell project for a year, weather it be a high doller resell project or not and take things as they come. Havent gone to even see the mare yet, but either way, im still eventully going to need a place to put what ever i do get. Im still looking though, and i wont make any dicisions to fast... i made that mistake before. Just saying, she SOUNDS like a really nice little project, and if she IS that nice, then i will PROBABLY get her. Many of my friends do that, and have had many successes, but yes theres always the chance things will blow up.. but thats with any horse... project horse or not. Either way, im putting myself at a risk. I could get a resell project, have something happen and get stuck with it, or i could get some horse that i "think" will work to be my competion horse, and then it turn out to be totally the opposite and get stuck with it... OR i could get a resell project, and it work out and i get a good price on it, OR i could get a horse that i think will work out and it does! So its all in the luck of the draw. Devine is going with me and has agreed that she does sound nice. Oh and i do have a "name" behind me.. many people respect my 2 trainers because they are super with training competion horses. I dont know one person that has a negitive thing to say about them and they have a lot of respect in the dressage world and in the hunters. And pretty much everyone knows them.. or knows of them.
