The moniker "America's Team" was devised by NFL Films back in the late 70's. Tex Schramm, the longtime GM, is often credited with the title and he certainly has never gone out of his way to deny it. It's been a great marketing tool for the organization. You have to blame the Sabols, though, and not Schramm.

On another note, why do people get upset when someone likes a different team than they do? Isn't that kind of juvenile? Oh wait, this IS southern Maryland.....
