I would think they'll put them on LOCKDOWN if there really was a shooting. Honestly if there was a rumor of a shooting, I'll go Morgan Freeman on them clowns. I'll be searching through lockers, students bags in the classroom, around the building and all of them measures. Morgan Freeman suckas.

Don't they have a plan, it was calm and orderly at LHS when their thing was going on......this sounds bad at GMH

Just spoke to my son at GMHS. They are sitting in a classroom, not changing classes right now. He says it's ridiculous... he says he hears the same rumor every day, but for some reason today everyone is panicking. They are currently watching a football game on TV, waiting for things to calm down.

Son says that the problem is all of the panicking parents blocking the school up trying to get their kids out. He says the office is packed with parents.

I just talked to Great Mills because my daughter is there. The Police are there for crowd control because so many parents are there! There is no bomb and the shooting so far is just a rumor. They are not releasing the kids early as far as en mass and closing the school but parents can pick up their child if they want. They are not in lock down.

There are a variety of rumors circulating this this afternoon regarding a alleged gunman and/or other threats at Great Mills High School. There are several sources of these rumors, including students at the high school. We have confirmed with both the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Dept. and Public Schools that these reports are only rumors and are based loosely on a threat received yesterday and the arrest of the individual responsible for that threat. As a precaution, several Sheriff's deputies were assigned duty at the school this morning, but have now returned to their regular patrols. The St. Mary's County Public Schools and Sheriff's Department ask that parents rest assured that any reports they have heard today are rumors and that there is no need for concern.
