There's always daycare.

I haven't found a day care in our school district yet. I wanted her Grandmother to do it but she's in the Spring Ridge district and won't come down here and get here.

I have applied and been interviewed for over 5 secretary positions and EVERY TIME someone related to someone has gotten the job with the same level of skills. One time I had many years more experience.

I thought at first maybe it was just me and since the last 3 years, I find out one out of two people I meet have had the same problem.

I moved here never having trouble getting or keeping a good job.

Unless you are a teacher with a Masters degree St. Marys County Public schools are totally unfair.

Also I am qualified to substitute in a secretary position even long term but not hired being told I did not have the qualifications someone else has... odd eh?
Must be you or your poor preformance during the interview. First time I set foot in St. Mary's County I got the job, don't have a masters and i'm no mensa candidate.

Perhaps Chasey_Lane was suggesting carolann take her little monster to daycare so she, carolann, can get a job.

Ibelieve the unemployment rate down here in the county is less than 4%, that says someone is working. I hear employers begging for good people.

Why do you think you HAVE to work for the school board ,there are lots of other jobs.
have you tried the Post Office they hire part time folks for mail clerks.

Hang in there and something will come along. Do you volunteer at schools in the community? If so, the employees would get to know you and If/When a job does open you'll be one of the applicants they are already familiar with

Also, if you're not opposed to working elsewhere ....you should expand your search into the contractor world as they are always looking for Administrative positions and they often pay more than the school system.

Good Luck to you

Actually if I knew of people who live near me that needed daycare I would do it. I only moved to Valley Lee in May and don't know everyone in the neighborhood or nearby yet.
