I interviewed several times with the school system here and was offered jobs several times, but I had to refuse because they didn't pay enough to make it worth my while.

Oh, and I am not from here and have no relatives in the area.

Believe it or not, perhaps those people who got the jobs you wanted presented themselves better than you did. Perhaps even they were better qualified. I doubt you had the opportunity to interview the other applicants yourself.

Arguing nepotism doesn't exist here, rampantly, is like arguing racism isn't here, rampantly. There are many, many times and places it's not there, and too many times it is there. Some of you got unlucky and didn't get the job, most of you were allowed to be judged on your own merits.
