I just had this conversation with my wife. (this thread got me thinking we should discuss it.)

She agrees, keep some ashes, spread some ashes.

We also discussed organ donation to help people, and we both agree

But donating the body for science/experiments

I'm for the donation and exploration of my parts after I'm done with them. People will benefit both ways, which is what I think is important, and if you're okay with them cutting you up as a donor, I don't see why you would have a problem with them cutting you up as an anatomy study.

Anybody remember Grease Man? He had the one story of a lady who died and was cremated. Her husband kept the ashes on the fireplace mantle. Occasionally he had the guys over to play poker, and sometimes they used the deceased wife's urn to place their cigar ashes.

After a while, one of the poker players who hadn't shown up to play in a while, noticed the urn getting full, and observed

"looks like your wife's been putting a little weight on"

:rimshot:

I have always said that I want to donate any organ or usable pars. Then maybe cook the rest. Doesn't matter to me what the love ones do with me afterwards.

Actually, I just found out I a need some surgery. I am getting a tendon from a donor for a new ACL, and also a bone from a donor to put in my tibial after the doc breaks it.

I hope that I could some day help some one else!

Will that get you icecream or just a large room with a sticky floor?
