I went there af few years ago and had a great time. I had better times a Busch Gardens and Kings Dominion, but that's only my opinion. I may be a little leary of Six Flags now considering the following: http://www.wusatv9.com/news/news_art...?storyid=20063 If you are just going for the Water Park then you have no worries. Have a Great TIME!!! :-)

I went to Six Flags one time with my dad and some people from his work. This one guy got on this roller coaster and it nearly exploded his spine in a million pieces. They had to get a helicopter to take him to the hospital. My dad went back to the ride to get that guy's wheelchair and they wouldn't give it to him so we had to wait there for 6 hours until that guy got done with his operation so he could tell them it was ok for my dad to take his wheelchair. Anyways, it was pretty fun and we got to ride almost all the rides twice.

Six Flags had such a bad rep when it Wild World. A lot of that came indirectly from being in such an economically depressed area. People who could afford to go to a nice park went to KD or Hershey for a day trip. The locals went to the Wild World. I never figured that changing the name and management would help a lot unless you could attract the employees and clientele to improve it's image. I've never actually been there though.

but, I went to Chesapeake water park last week with my 4 year old and we both loved it. Half the price of 6 flags and seemed like more for him to do there. Maybe that's just b/c he is barely 42 inches this year vs. when we went to 6flags last year. Def. wouldn't waste all that money just for the waterpark at 6 flags!

Not that I'm a fan but I lived not far from there for years. Economically depressed doesn't apply to that area at all. It was Adventure World for years after Wild World, before being bought out by Six Flags.

I meant that large parts of PG are economically depressed, look at the decline of Landover Mall. I will grant you there are some quite respectable pockets w/in PG, but those people always went to KD, not Adventure World (I knew there was another name but couldn't remember it) Like I said, I've never been there, regardless of the name, but I knew people who went and everyone said, "don't go." I don't know anyone, personally, who has gone since it became 6 Flags but I've not heard that it has necessarily improved either. I also find it suspicious that they don't show any minorities in their ads, when, especially given it's location, that can't possibly be the case. Last edited by Dymphna : 07-14-2003 at 09:03 AM.
