Car Runs 100 miles on 4 oz. of Water???

Has anyone seen the H2O converted to HHO story??? Basically a process of electrolysis - this guy takes battery power and water to replace acetylene torches... supposedly he has now turned this into a process to propel a vehicle?

Prototype car runs 100 miles on four ounces of water as fuel

Yeah, but how much electicity does it take to do it? Does that electricity still come from coal?

Until we can produce cheap, clean electricity, ideas like this will never be anything more than a novelty. We need nuke plants.

Yeah I saw that 2 yrs ago ......... last time I checked his web site it had been revamped, like he got an infusion of funding ...........

MMDad .... the unit used a high amp alt and 2-3 batteries in your can to break down the water .........

Don't know - but if his car is running it is using batteries. If it is/does then an alternator or series of alternators or Synergy Drive can replenish the battery drain... just hypotesizing...

Don't get me wrong - I like the idea as a purely "gee whiz" concept. But the energy required to separate the water is the same as the energy produced by burning it. The loss from friction would be enough to defeat the concept, but when you add everything it takes to run a car the efficiency rapidly decreases. It's nothing more than another perpetual motion machine that doesn't actually have perpetual motion.

That means you are essentially taking battery power to cause the reaction, then burning the hydrogen to run the engine while taking power to create more electricity. Every step has energy loss, so why bother with the intermediate step? Why not just run straight off the electricity and skip the inefficient hydrogen part?

It's no different than using bio fuels as a feel good measure. Everyone you see using these "clean" fuels is just using energy that coal created, with all of the related pollution.

It would be wonderful if it were true, but I'll believe it when I see it.

Batteries start the the "Generator", no gas reserve .... once HHO is flowing start the car ( I think a dual fuel motor would be a better approach .... engine burning HHO turns High Amp alt, continuing the process ...... you just need to add water .......

Hmm apparently the "test car" is dual fuel .... uses one battery ( things have changed since I 1st read all this stuff ) and the HHO "Generator" draws 165 Amp powering the car that has to eat up HP just to turn the Alt.

Hmm the test show HHO + Gasoline I though this was HHO only

Yep, it's a "perpetual motion" machine: the process begins with water, and it ends with water (as the product of combustion) - yet net energy is somehow gained from converting h20 to hho and back to h20 again. If that were actually possible, he could route the exhaust back into the fuel tank, and the machine would run forever - all while generating power! Schaaaa-weet!
