Doesn't get the wife out of the house any faster either.

If you see a friend while you're driving, it's good for getting their attention so you can wave. That's why it ticks me off, these indiscriminate honkers - then people get immune to it and don't look, therefore don't see you wave.

And then there's my delightfully rude sister-in-law who, when she comes to visit us, rolls up the driveway with her horn blasting. My driveway is right between my house and Cap'm FireBrand's house and they're sorta close together which amplifies the sound, so I wouldn't blame FireBrand if he came over and punched her a good one some day.

Perhaps if I was a friggin MIND READER, I would know that the third time you leave the house, it's really time to go.

2 miles was our slow, short day.. normal was 5.. Squadron Runs on Monday morning were 5 - 10..

Those were few and far between.

Had one commander that thought it was smart if we did PT in our Flak Vests (the Vietnam Era Vests, the new ones were too nice so get dirty)... yeah, that was fun...

That and we always ran uphill, both ways.

It took us MUCH longer to eat breakfast!! Though breakfast was worth EVERY bit of the $.70 it cost!

Army we had our first formation of the day at 0545.. Reveille and Colors at 0600... than PT for 1 - 2 hours, with work formation at 0830 or 0900

Than another formation at 1645 followed by Retreat and To the Colors at 1700..
Webster doesn't do it because the flag is lit after sundown.
