I really dislike them. REALLY They sent me a bill for $600 for services rendered six days after my husband died, that his insurance company declined to pay. The service rendered was examining records. Why? Don't know. He did not die under a Shaw's care. He was out of area and there were no questions as to why.

| I just moved up here from Atlanta and I am extremely dissapointed with Shah Associates. The office is absolutely disgusting, I feel more sick going in there than I do before! I am going to follow the advice that someone said on here about going across the Bridge to Solomons. So glad I saw this thread! |

Not real impressed with the staff either, there are only two there that are good the rest seem pretty clueless. Look else where unless this is a last resort! | |

| Here's my Shah story. Back when Lyme disease was all the rage, we found a dog tick on my son. A few weeks later, my son developed a rash in the same general area. I'm no doctor, and the rash didn't look like the one in pictures of a lyme disease infection, but I errored on the side of caution and took him to see the Shahs. The doctor looked at his for a few minutes, then directed me to go to St. Marys Hospital for bllodwork, then had us drive all the way up to the emergency room at Children's Hospital in DC. So we went to SMH and then drove up to Children's. When the guy at Children's was registering my son, his monitor was turned just enough for me to read it, and on the screen was a field that said "Pay Referral Fee to:", and he was typing in Shah/Associates. I asked the guy what the deal with the referral fee was, and he quickly turned his monitor so I couldn't see anymore and said I didn't have to worry about it. We had to sit sround for another two hours before we were seen, and the doctor came in, looked at my son for about 10 seconds, and told me I needed to stop at a drugstore, get some Tinactin, and follow the directions on the box. He then went to leave, but I snagged him and said "so this isn't lyme disease?" and he said "no." Then I asked him how it was that a doctor in the city could tell that so fast, while a guy out in the country couldn't, and he started hemming and hawing. So in the end, Shah sent us to two hospitals and ate up a lot of our time just so they could make some extra money on referral fees. We never went back to them after that. The best doctor we had in 12 years of living in St. Mary's was an older-than-dirt GP who had an office off RT 5. I can't remember the guy's name, but he was super!!! His office was about a block off RT 5, on the road that runs to Country Lakes. |

| I love Dr.Kheptal. I have not been to the doctor for myself since I moved back here so I do not know about the rest of the doctors. My husband did use one of them and had no problem. He got in pretty quickly to. When I call for either of my kids I can usually get them in the same day if need be. I will tell you though that if your kids get sick and you can not get them an appointment and they need to be seen then you will have to take them to the ER. Brenton Medical has the Urgent Care but depending on your kids ages most of the doctors that they have working in it will not see kids. My reasoning behind liking Dr.Kheptal is because my youngest has had all kinds of problems since she was born and Dr.Khetptal was at one point seeing her every week until we got some of the problems worked out and then referred her right away to Childrens when she was not developing like she should.

| Dr. Khetpal has been good with my kids as well. Dr. Szkotnicki is really good also. As with any organization, there are good apples and bad ones. The bottom line is who you're comfortable with. It won;t be the same for everyone.
