Why are Rentals so HIGH????
How are young people going to afford to live here when the rentals are so HIGH?

They aren't -- one reason why I am building an addition on to my home this year. So my son and his girlfriend don't have to struggle just to pay rent.

Rentals are high because the market is down and....this is an expensive place to live too. Great you can add on!! My kids are home because they can't afford to live on their own although they'd like to. Glad I have a house big enough for everyone....for now anyway! Not sure how much longer we'll stay in the area. Haven't researched less expensive areas though....couldn't sell the house right now and make some profit if we wanted to! So many for sale!!!

It is that bad..........add it up, rent (take a peek at the prices), gas, utilities, food, insurance, water, cable (ok that can wait), car payment or old car with maintenance.......

I know my kids can't do it and to be honest my daughter makes better than most her age but it's not like she has a killer paycheck.

I've looked around and have found decent places that won't break the bank.
