Do not call list

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/02/07/us...er&oref=slogin

Now if only they would add politicians and the FOP and Police organisations to the list of people who cant call me it would be great.

You can register at www.donotcall.gov, or by calling toll-free (888) 382-1222. If you register by telephone, you must call from the telephone number you wish to register.

You might want to register your cell phones also!

The registry went into effect October 1, 2003.

Had the State Police call me three times in one week for donations. The third time I told them to put me on their "do not call" list. Haven't heard from them in two years.

I was told that MD has a law too that if you tell them not to call 3 times, if they call the fourth you can file charges against them. I generally tell all of them this and normally they only call the once.

I love it when the police call for donations.

I ALWAYS yell like I'm talking to someone in the room "OH MY GOD IT'S THE COPS!!! THEY'RE ON TO US!!" and hang up.

Makes me giggle just thinking about it.

I always say, "I was just about to call you, I need $10, $25 or $50."

Not really.

They are typically not the police. We stopped getting calls from them after we asked to speak to someone that could tell us how much of the money goes to the police/families of police. Pocket change...don't call us back.

I don't have a problem supporting law enforcement and/or their families during a crisis, but I'll take the money to the barracks myself.
