Does anyone know of anyone who will deliver some dry firewood and stack it for me? Approx what is the cost for a truck load?

How Much Is A Cord Of Wood

[quote=mkd20012001;2696716]J & J Firewood (John Kolbe) out of Chaptico. He delivered mine to Wildewood. It's was $65 for 1/2 a cord. He is a real nice guy.

Okay, as a kid I remember my Grandpa telling G'ma he had got about a cord of wood from the woods, but I don't remember how much it was. I think it filled about a third of his truck bed?? Maybe stacked it was a...oh... well...taller than me LOL. I'll take a guess that it was 8'x5' but I really can't remember. You tell me. Oh, now that I'm thinking about it, I think my uncle got in trouble for stacking it too high and had to redo it. lol.

How long will a cord last you?

A full cord is a large amount of wood. It measures 4 feet high by 4 feet wide by eight feet long (4' x 4' x 8') and has a volume of 128 cubic feet.

Two full-size pick-up truck loads (8 foot box) equals one full cord, whether the wood is stacked carefully so it is about level with the truck box sides, or is thrown into the truck box with the top of the pile about as high as the cab.

What type of tree? How long ago did they fall? If it's recent, they won't be near dry enough.

That's cool. How thick is it? Something a chainsaw could get through?
