Don't think, you appear to be ill-equipped for such activity.

Getting in isn't rocket science. All you need is strength in being able to sell yourself by depicting your strengths and abilities to a prespective agency.

In the past I've assisted many in rewriting/tuning-up their resumes to match what the agency was looking for but have no inclination to do that any longer as it would really cramp my retirement activities. The CHART system is computerized to seek out keywords and phrases associated with the position one is seeking. These phrases/words are usually easily found within the announcements.

One additional point ~ employment agreements.
Many contracting companies require you to sign an agreement stating that you will not compete against them for work, or even some cases - the same position, if another company takes the contract.
So if the type of position you seeking is a "specialized" type of work you need to consider how comfortable you feel finding work elsewhere if the company your currently working for loses the contract.
