| You want to be able to appease everyone especially in that type of biz, obviously. |

| I was making money before, now MOM tells me what to do 'cause he's a socialist and is much smarter than dumb-azz me. I guess I was too dumb to realize I could double or triple my profits just by going non-smoking. Next I think I'll have a non-alcoholic bar or a foodless restaurant, then I can really rake in the dough!

No, it would be a completely different dynamic. Being that all the bars and restaurants were generally the same, you had an even playing field. My bet is that if there were a SINGLE smoking alternative, ALL the smokers would flock there like the seagulls around Boardwalk Fries. My guess is that the place would become so freaking popular, so freaking fast, that an interesting phenomenon would occur: Non-smokers would want to start going there because it's the new super-trendy-way-cool-new-awesome-hot-spot. But then they'd immediately start #####ing about all the smoke again, as is their wont, and the smoking would quickly be snuffed out there, eliminating the entire reason it became popular in the first place, and then the joint would wither on the vine.

You might have something there. Not with the foodless restaurant - but a non-alcoholic bar could probably rack in some dough. Target Demographic: Teenagers/Young Adults. It could be a safe nightclub for kids, where they could have their box socials or whatever the devil kids are into these days. Nah - screw it. They'd want to smoke, and that would screw it all up. Little bastards ruin everything.
