I was also looking at the CRE but after ready alot of the threads on that area I think I might stay clear of there. The bridge I not worried about becasue I am use to traffic out here 30min sometimes to go 3 miles.

Leonardtown, Mechanicsville, Oakville, St. Inigoes, Hollywood, California all nice areas it just depends on how far you want to drive. I can drive from the northern end to the southern end of the county in about an hour, so hopefully that will give you an idea or you can do the mileage from the base to an area on map quest. If you've got kids you may want to consider the schools as well as the proximity to base

I do have a 7 yr old daughter and I hear that the schools in Calvert County are better
