Believe it or not, all the grocery stores around here have a butcher shop, McKays, Giant, Foodlion etc. You know, those guys in the white smocks behind the glass windows, behind the meat counter. Just ask, or tell them what you want and they'll cut it for you.

But the meat isn't the best quality at those stores..

I know its a drive...however the Amish market in Annapolis has great meat beef and poultry. Problem is they are only open Thurs-Sat. and they aren't cheap. But you get what you pay for....

But if you don't want to drive....Nick's rules....

I miss calvert meats.

I just found an inexpensive meat grinder at Big Lots ($36). So now I can grind as much or as little as I need using just the mix I want.

I went to Nick's of Clinton up in Waldorf, and they trimmed and cubed the meat for me (which was a bonus).

The kabobs were awesome.
