One big advantage diesel engines have that is not being looked at enough, I really don't know how it may factor for price ranges though, but diesel engines have the ability to run on BIOdeisel with little to no modifications to them.

have to be careful what you put in them when it comes to Bio. in many cases you still have to have regular diesel on board to run when you first start and prior to shutting down, that bio diesel can clog the injector rails, and then you are in for an expensive repair.

That's all fine and good, but with all the new EPA crap that the federal government has REQUIRED the manufacturer to put on ALL the diesel engines being built for the bigger trucks....the fuel mileage is on average 4 miles per gallon

Without the EPA crap on the engine, the average miles per gallon is 6-9 miles per gallon

You do the math

Has everyone noticed...

... how on a daily basis, the price for gas at the pumps kept increasing as the price per barrel of oil increased, yet, after the price dropped to under $100 a barrel late last week, the price at the pumps stayed the same! If there was ever any doubt about oil company greed, this should tell you something.

Heard on the news about a month or so ago that Exxon had reported the highest profit in history for the last quarter

...look, the oil company and the gas station are two different entities for one thing. For another, whatever Mr. Gas Station Owner is selling you is fuel he's had for at least some days if not longer, so, he's paying whatever the price was when he bought a given load. He's gonna raise prices as soon as his costs go up and, yeah, he won't be in a huge hurry to lower them but don't be too hard on them. Gas stations do not make much on fuel. They make less than the state and feds do and they make less than the oil company. It's an ugly business.

Larry, I'd like to agree with you, but when oil prices go up, Mr. Gas Station Owner shouldn't raise the price until he runs out of that tank of gasoline. Instead, prices jump up right away.
