No one has addressed another big factor in fuel prices. The restrictions (prohibitions?) on drilling in ANWR and off the US coastline. Can anyone tell me when the last oil refinery was built in the US? (I have no idea.) Delaware residents voted "nay" to an offshore windmill farm that would have provided a fair chunk of "free" energy b/c even @ 5 miles offshore they figured an unobstructed view was worth more than lower energy costs.

So remember these things when your local/state/federal reps are begging for your vote.

Are you saying they don't pay for their tank until after the gas is sold? That doesn't sound quite right.

And I'm not worried about helping them make money. They charge too much for crap anyways.

Just wondering

how much of the current cost of a barrel of oil is due to the falling value of the dollar on the world market?

So if the USA stops buying oil from OPEC, who else are they going to sell it to? (in the quantities we buy from them) It would seem the US oil Companies can regulate the world prices.

China, Japan, Russia, Australia I believe. I think we're third behind China and Japan.

Ahh! Big Oil will raise the price to $4 and MAYBE someone will
FINALLY complain (apathy), then they will be "compassionate"
and drop it back to $3.75 so we will think we are getting a
bargain, then in SEPT they will raise it to $4 and we will just
think the rise is "normal". NOBODY WILL COMPLAIN! And the
raise to $4 will be blamed on (fill in the blank) a)weather, b)the
'economy', c)'problems/fire' at the refinery, d)switching over to
making home heating oil for the upcoming 'cold winter',e)all of
the above, and if THAT doesn't work, then they will blsme it on
the 'war in Iraq' (from whom we haven't bought a DROP of oil in
almost 30 years!).

And at the end of 2008, Big Oil can give all of their execs another
obscene raise and report MORE record profits!

Isn't it intersting that it is not "environmentally wise" for
US oil companies to drill in the Gulf of Mexico or off our
other coasts, but CHINA is allowed to drill in these SAME
oil fields within sight of our shores?

It's all about the money! NOT US CONSUMERS! And NOT
THE FRICKIN ENVIRONMENT!

everyone is saying that the government needs to step in and do something, do you not realize that they already do? if they did not gas would be like $15.00 a gallon. Maybe They should step out completely and force us to use our brians and find altrnative means of travel?

But yes, diesel fuel is rediculos dont it take way less crude to craste that fuel?

Just announced on NBC Channel 4 "news" that gas could
go p by as much as 75c MORE per gallon by Memorial Day
due to Big Oil's 'annual refinery shutdown' to "convert from
winter refining to summer refining"!

Again! Big Oil knows AHEAD OF TIME what kind od 'problems'
wll cause a rise in prices!

Another reason stated was because 'demand is down' for gas!
DAMN! If you SAVE gas you PAY! If you DON'T SAVE gas you
PAY!

AND NOBODY COMPLAINS!

Oh yah! That's right! Boosh owns an oil company so HE will be
a BIG help fo us!
