Again, if you don't want to/don't think you can safely/don't know how/don't understand what lights are/etc. then you can ignore Earth Hour as if it doesn't exist. "

I understand perfectly what a light is and how it works...perhaps the lights are not on in your own head. The point I was making is that turning off your lights to save energy does not have an impact on the amount of energy created. The so called "carbon footprint" is the same whether you have your lights on or not. The ENERGY is already expended by the time it reaches your light switch. You only save yourself a few cents on YOUR bill.
An energy savings of 47,000 cars off the road is only in your head. The energy was still used to create electricity regardless of usage....

If you are REALLY concerned about our planet you should be worried about the dangers of DiHydrogen Monoxide. Here's the site:
Dihydrogen Monoxide Research Division - dihydrogen monoxide info
How many times can that Web site be posted in this forum?!? It's so old by now.

I am not an expert on electricity usage, I am NOT REALLY concerned about our planet. I did not state as fact anything about 47,000 cars, or believing it - I merely quoted an organization, who knows if their data is accurate, after all it's on the Internet.

That isn't e85...they run on alcohol

that is expected for high-end cars, can't be handled by most common cars though, thus why it is diluted by petroleum if you use E85 (85% ethanol)

Was still an interesting read though andy

Then why did you post so many times urging for us in the forum to do this and what an enmass effect it would have? You mean you are for this cause and don't really know the specifics? Love ya though! You gave me a good laugh today!

Tell that to ESPN, Marty and Scott always refer to E85 Ethanol being used in the IndyCar Series.

And the ethanol brand website says it is 100% Ethanol. LINK

I thought I only posted once in the forum bringing this cause to the attention of forum readers, not actually urging anyone to do anything, did I not?

I never stated that I was for this cause, or knew the specifics, I just reposted information from another Web site, is that not allowed here? I never read the rules (or knew the specifics) of SOMD.com either, uh oh, I see a pattern here.

Eff Global Waming.

How's this? Prove to me that global waming is real and I'll shut off my lights and TV and everything else for "Earth Hour."

Global Waming is , it's a myth made up so Al Gore could make billions of dollars and use the energy everyone else saves. Global Warming is a vast left wing conspiracy.

Right....

i'm just explaining this to you

100% ethanol = 100% alcohol (ethanol is the type)
E85 = 85% Ethanol and 15% petroleum

Just sayin...he is wrong if he refers to it as E85 if it is 100% Ethanol
