how come

...they don't make the welfare recipients who are sucking the life out of electricity by "never letting it go above 74 in the winter", and whose two kids take two showers each a day ("they are teenage boys, and you know how teenage boys are")? I know this for a fact, I volunteer for my church and take this woman to the food pantry every week cuz she doesn't drive (i guess thats where she's doing her part to conserve energy). But, the poor thing needs more subsidized funding to pay for her water and electric cuz her "income" (welfare and food stamps) just went down cuz her oldest turned 18 and moved out and it takes nine months to acquire additional income ("BABY"). I wish the f*ck i could keep my thermostat at 74 degrees like i'm growing effing palm trees in my living room.

I'll do my part to save the earth by saving my gas and not taking this ingrate to the church food pantry. I'm signing up to take an elderly or handicapped person.

What's gonna happen at Earth Hour + 1 second when the tree huggers, all around the world, flick the switch to turn their stuff back on?

Info from Earth Hour US - Earth Hour 2008

On March 29, 2008 at 8 p.m., join millions of people around the world in making a statement about climate change by turning off your lights for Earth Hour, an event created by the World Wildlife Fund.

Earth Hour was created by WWF in Sydney, Australia in 2007, and in one year has grown from an event in one city to a global movement. In 2008, millions of people, businesses, governments and civic organizations in nearly 200 cities around the globe will turn out for Earth Hour. More than 100 cities across North America will participate, including the US flagships–Atlanta, Chicago, Phoenix and San Francisco and Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver.

We invite everyone throughout North America and around the world to turn off the lights for an hour starting at 8 p.m. (your own local time)–whether at home or at work, with friends and family or solo, in a big city or a small town.

if you cared about the earth wouldn't you do just the opposite??

Turn on all the lights, get outside and turn on all your cars, lawn and garden equipment etc.. etc..

Burn up as much fossil fuel as you can, because the sooner we are rid of it the sooner we'll have a clean planet and the sooner we will find alternative fuels.. you know damn well nobody is REALLY going to care about alternative fuels, until we run out of the cheap and easy stuff.

Brown outs the world over as Electricty spikes to a level the transformers can't handle, and the turbines and electric generators can't spin up that fast.

Massive power surge will cause all electrical generators to fail at the same time. That will actually result in saving energy until they get them back online. However, there will be an increase in greenhouse gasses due to people burning trees to keep warm, candles to see, and charcoal and gas to cook.

The tree huggers never think these things through.

I'll be camping!

It would be cool to see this....especially in a city. Could you imagine actually seeing the stars as you stood on Broadway?
