seriously

At least twice this week I have driven down white sands drive passing a bunch of people having a big fire going on their front lawn. It just looks like they are burning whatever and standing around drinking. This is the main road through white sands. How is that legal? It isn't in a grill or fire pit, just right out in the open.

Can't answer for that county, but in St. Mary's open burning is still legal, much to my dislike.

There are several calls on the Calvert scanner for illegal burns. With the explosion of brush fires recently in the county, the companies are quick to respond.

No open burning in Calvert. When you see this call 911 if you have to. It's a wonder the neighbors haven't called yet, but then again, if it's the area I'm thinking, the neighbors are probably out drinking with them.

I think I saw the same people on the left burning whatever, you can report it to the HOA, open uncovered burning is not allowed in White Sands. Also call the PD and see if that helps.

Should call someone, it's too dangerous to burn right now and those houses are pretty close together it wouldn't take much with the wind lately to cause some major damage.

This is what you do. If you call and say they are simply burning, technically they aren't doing anything wrong. As long as they burn between 4pm and midnight, per state law they are allowed.

When you call 911 you have to say that they do not have a hose out, are burning trash or whatever, and have no permit. Once you do that, they will send the fire department. Stress that there is no hose there. In order to burn, you must have a hose present.
