Its FINE!!!
The fact it ran away is good..could be a momma with babies somewhere..
She has to go out and eat when she can, so they do wander out later afternoon, evening.

Nothing to worry about.
Just keep your area clean of leftover food and dog food so she does not get too close looking for free, easy to find people/dog food.

Any problems, PM me.

All of the above are correct. Last October/November I had a raccoon go in my dogs cage in the middle of the day (dog food). Animal control advised that it is not uncommon for nursing mothers to come out during the day (as the babies are sleeping during day and up at night) for food. If the raccoon seemed aggressive or didnt run away would be cause for fear, but since it ran down the driveway seems as though it might have beena momma looking for food while the babies are sleeping. Call animal control becausethey were very helpful in telling me what to look for and as it turned out they were right, it was a nursing momma that had her litter (if that is what they are called) a little late in the season.

Animal control for tri-county is 301-932-1713.
