Just looked it up on doppler and that is the wildest looking "storm cloud" I've ever seen with an unusual direction from North to direct South. Man made for sure. I won't guess what it is, but it's still there on the radar and that's one weird pattern. Spring/summer storms just don't go that direction in this area...

If it is chaff made from tin foil (or mylar, or whatever..), it is VERY light and will easily be kept aloft by the breezes we have today. That stuff could be in the air for a very long time.

It's darn near to NC now and widely dispersed. The radar apparantly counts chaff that hits the ground as rain. Storm total is 2.5" in some areas.
