Storm?

Radar says so. Little storm headed toward Va going past and over Pt Lookout.

Looking at it from Accuweather and expanded out it is travelling to the SW, unusual storm direction. The loop shows a sweet blossoming effect like what we used to see during chaff tests.

Wouldn't that chaff cloud have to be 30 miles long to appear that large?

Multiple passes, multiple bundles, hell of a bloom rate, that is what it is designed to do. I've seen larger chaff clouds. Doug Hill probably will make some comment about the weird event tonight on the news.

Not really, the individual pieces are really small and a resulting cloud of that size could have easily been contained initially in something the size of a backpack or smaller.
