Can you believe.......
I can't believe that this guy only got 4 yrs.!!
Somebody told me there was 30,000 in restitution awarded?
Does that go to the family of the victim? I hope so but I don't see how that could be enough. Seems like a slap on the wrist to me.

Info says 7 years with 3 suspended and 5 years probation for vehicular manslaughter. No mention of any restitution, but that could be a probation condition.

yes when i found out i was upset, im friends with the jerew family. im just glad for them he did get some time i guess its better than nothing. restitution goes to the family of the deceased, as far as i know atleast its that way in va

Yes, he got 7 years, three suspended, and more than $30K to be paid to the family.

The state and the judge agreed to the plea in order to spare the Jerew family the agony of a trial. I wish they could have given him a harsher sentence, especially after seeing his massive criminal record. How many chances do we give someone like this before we say "enough?"

That's ridiculous! Isn't it amazing how the "drunk driver" never gets injured?

Right - he'll be in jail for 4yrs. and how possible is it that he gets out earlier than that. Seems to me he got a "it's cheaper to let'em out than keep'em in" kind of sentence.

I'll bet it doesn't change him.

yes thats what always gets me, the innocent people killed or crippled due to the drinking and driving of others.

This article states: "He has completed alcohol and drug treatments twice, yet he continues to drink alcohol and used marijuana less than a month ago, a year after the crash that caused Jerew’s death, Rappaport said."

This is wrong - he will do this again to someone - he should have gotten the max on this.

I can't stand people who drink and drive. There is always someone they can call or better yet, set it up before they go out or don't go!

I always say that if you want to kill yourself, go in the back yard and put a gun in your mouth and pull the trigger but do not take innocent people with you by getting behind the wheel.

Its just sad.
